Humanization of Pets: Fact or Fiction?
Have you ever wondered if we sometimes take our care a little too seriously? It's heartwarming to see how we treat our furry friends like little people - from the raincoats they put on when the first drops fall to the minimalist "off-leash" areas we think are safe.
But let's stop and think for a moment: is this really in keeping with the nature of our four-legged friends? If we give them flavored food as a reward, are we really doing them a favor?
It is a disturbing thought, but perhaps we are inadvertently distancing our dogs from their natural state and thereby condoning potential consequences we never intended: lifestyle diseases similar to those we humans are familiar with.
Especially in big cities, we are increasingly seeing dogs that have become accustomed to street noise and concrete jungles. They find themselves in fenced-in free-running areas instead of roaming through forests and meadows. It is amazing and admirable how adaptable our four-legged friends are. But does this still have much to do with the original free and wild wolf from which they all descend, or should we remember the words of Robert Lembke:
"The dog needs his dog's life. He doesn't want to have fleas, but he wants the possibility of getting them."
Let's just ask ourselves whether we really give our dogs everything they need for a normal and almost natural "dog life"?
The change in their diet is particularly thought-provoking. Instead of natural meat, we often find grains in their bowls, and artificial flavors replace natural tastes. Is this the best thing for our loyal companions? This distance from nature leaves its mark - on us humans and, unfortunately, increasingly on our dogs too.
In most cases, these illnesses are based on two elements: overloading the organism with environmental toxins, food components or medication that are not species-appropriate, and a lack of species-specific exercise. Our animals cannot cope with the abundance that we offer them. Shouldn't this make us think? Perhaps it is time to ask ourselves: How can we enable our dogs to live a life that is closer to their nature without foregoing the conveniences of the modern world?
For this reason, we decided to develop the Exqizid concept . Its simple but effective approach, less is more, is currently the first and only concept of its kind that goes straight to the base of every dog by supporting 2 of the most important pillars: cleansing the body and supporting intestinal health.
